COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus, began in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. The first case of SARS-CoV-2 was found in New Jersey on March 2, 2020. The disease has spread worldwide and is an ongoing pandemic. As of October 2020, New Jersey has the second highest counts of deaths related to the virus in the United States. As of April 2021, New Jersey has administered 4 million vaccine doses, with 1.7 million people being fully vaccinated.
